Jelly Man Kelly
February 21, 2009I was singing this great James Taylor song to Cole the other day and it reminded me of wonderful days as a kid watching Sesame Street and Electric Company. Thought you might enjoy a little blast from the past–courtesy of the Jelly Man himself.
Enjoy!

James Taylor still has it for me, even though I first watched this as an some decades ago. I am sure that Cole loves it when you sing to him.
I still love the songs from Sesame Street. My favorite (that I sang in the car with my kids when they were toddlers) was Madeline Kahn and Grover singing “Be My Echo”. But my all time favorite Muppet song is from the Muppet Movie — Grover singing at the campfire “I’m Going to go Back There Someday”. I am sure that he was singing about the Celestial Kingdom.
Isn’t it amazing the songs you remember when you have children. When my youngest was born (August) I would sing “Up on the House top” (Christmas soung) to calm her down. I would sing to my oldest while going through cancer treatment “You are my Sunshine.” You’ll find a favorite song that no matter how old he gets it will be a favorite to both of you!!
Oh I love it! It only gets more fun when your little ones grow….there are so many things that will come back to you that you want to share with him along the way.
My kids are now old enough to watch Ghost Busters and Goonies and we have gone in search of the older Disney movies that came out when we were kids. In fact, so much time has gone by that the people/songs we listened to on the radio are popular again and our kids come home wanting to download it off the internet so they can dance in front of the mirrors in their rooms! They think they have found something so great until mom breaks out into song and then they run and hide so they don’t have to hear it anymore.
Enjoy these times…they go by so fast. I still remember every detail of the day I gave birth to each of my children. It seems like only yeaterday I had my first little girl and soon she will be 10. Congratulations.
Thank you for that Blast from the Past. I love James Taylor and all of his songs. Kids are so cute and you are only experiencing the tip of the iceberg with Cole. So many good times are in store for you and Kolette. I have an elementary and a sophomore in HS and I look at the HS girl and think how quick the time has gone by. I get weepy thinking about her HS graduation, college years and adulthood all the while not believing how fast time went. Cherish the time with Cole right now, especially because babies change so quickly. What fun you have ahead of you! Thanks for the video. CindyML
Awww we had a Sesame Street video with that song in it! My kiddos (now 13 and 9 1/2) loved it so! So much for you to look foward to with your little guy! Just wait until he meets Elmo!!
Hugs!
I am going to see James Taylor (and Yoyo ma…yo yo ma…yomama, whatever) at Tanglewood this summer. I wonder if he does requests?
I must confess that after reading this post initially I started thinking about all the wonderful hours spent singing with my kids as we drove all over the country, and I ended up with the chorus to Raffi’s “Rubber Blubber Whale” stuck in my head all day.
O.K… Raise your hand if you sang along!!!!

P.S. Please tell Kolette “Hello” and that Cole is just beautiful. I loved his Valentine. SOO cute. I worked for Kolette with Memories Complete about 7 years ago. Thanks. Congrats.
Thank you for such a delightful moment in my day. Please give my best to Kolette and Cole.
ya know I don’t know that song. hum, I was the very avid fan of Sesame Street, as I love those creatures that sad the “O” all of the time and the man that was mad as he had to wait for Ernie all teh time being waited on and getting the wrong sandwich, and then big bird snoring in his nest, and then song about wanna buy a Nickle.
Must remember if I did ever hear this as I don’t think so.
How is Kolette healing and moving around?
Can we see an updated photo of mommy and cole?
I need to get your package out one day here.
I am so proud of you all!!! WIll miss you this time around at CE, but, need to continue to wait patiently to see if I get in this time around or not! So glad I met you both!
Luv James Taylor! Hope all is going well with baby Cole!
